Laura has been riding for 18 years & teaching for six. Though her favorite discipline is dressage, she is no stranger to the hunter & equitation rings. Laura rode for the University of Mary Washington’s IHSA team, where she earned several high point rider awards and even pinned third at Zone IV Finals in 2015. After graduating, Laura turned her focus back to dressage, spending the 2016 show season competing at the USDF recognized horse shows. At the 2016BLM Championships, she scored a 68% to pin seventh out of 40 riders in her championship class. In the spring of 2017, Laura moved up to third level and earned her USDF bronze medal. Laura owns one horse named Chai, whom she has had for ten years and has successfully competed in both the dressage & hunter rings. She teaches both dressage & jump lessons at SNF. Laura lives and works full time in Philadelphia but still spends as much time as she can at the barn with the horses and the SNF crew. Her latest adventure involves leasing and competing SNF’s Rory. The pair dabbled in a few recognized shows this fall with lots of success and hopes to continue in 2019!
Lauren has been a part of the SNF team from the time her legs didn’t come past the saddle flap. She has always been a naturally gifted rider, especially when it comes to dressage. In her early career, she leased different SNF lesson horses and competed at local schooling shows. When she was 13, she got her own pony and the absolute love of her life, Mazur. Lauren and “Mo” progressed together from training level up through third level, earning Lauren her USDF bronze medal in 2018. In 2019, they hope to move up to fourth level, with aspirations the following year to debut at FEI Prix St. Georges. Lauren has recently begun teaching lessons and is already a favorite amongst students. She is patient, knowledgable, and adept at teaching kids to ride. We are lucky to have Lauren as part of our team and are not sure how we would function without her!
